New Restaurants Coming to Belmar
As of today, the Belmar homepage lists four new restaurants as coming soon to Belmar. Here they are, copied and pasted over:
Rocko's Tacos - Open May 5th!
World of Beer - Summer 2013!
San Francisco Sourdough Eatery - Summer 2013!
Osteria Grappa Wine & Bar - Coming Soon!
Update:
As it looks like the Osteria Grappa is connected to the Grappa Mediterranean Bistro in Golden, I thought I'd look up user reviews of the Golden location. They're mixed, but take a look for yourself: Urban Spoon, Trip Adviser and Yelp.
The webpage for the Grappa Mediterranean Bistro is also interesting. It looks like exactly the sort of place I'd like to see in Belmar-- upscale, with a menu that reaches beyond the typical pasta. The chef, Maurice Couturier, has restaurants in Snowmass and Aspen as well the place in Golden. The question, of course, will be whether or not his team can get the food and the service right. If they can, Osteria Grappa will be a fantastic addition to downtown Lakewood.

Seems Rocko's got busted for not pulling a permit. All work has been stopped by the city of Lakewood. I highly doubt the May 5th opening date will be met.
ReplyDeleteSuper excited about the wine place! Any idea where it's going in?
ReplyDeleteLittle digging on Osteria - company registered in CO a month ago with address 450 S. Teller St, which would put it in the old Johnny Rockets space, right? The name on the registration is Maurice Couturier, who apparently owns Grappa Mediterranean Bistro in Golden (www.grappabistro.com), of which I never heard.
ReplyDeleteThat's a good find, Voland!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like the San Francisco Sourdough Eatery is going in just north of the Century 16 movie theater, in what I think was the old Positively Jake location.
Any idea what happened/will happen with LePeep Belmar, on Alameda? It appears to be under significant reconstruction and the sign is down, so I assume it's no longer LePeep?
ReplyDeleteBefore construction started on the former LePeep, a sign was briefly up announcing "Belmar Asia Restaurant: Coming Soon."
ReplyDeleteWent to Rocko's Tacos last night. The food was great and the atmosphere as well was great. Service was slow. 2 outta 3 isn't too bad.
ReplyDeleteI know this is a very old post, but does anyone have any idea what happened to the San Francisco Sourdough Eatery or know why it didn't open?
